Dutch Countryside

After getting my dutch drivers license, I followed the most logical next step – I started driving. To say I am addicted would be an understatement as I ended up driving almost 5000kms in just 5 weekends. Thats more driving I did in a month than I ever did in my entire lifetime.

The beauty that the dutch dutch countryside is, serves to only increase my desire to explore even more. The supply of beautiful places reachable by road in short time, is simply endless. Words do no justice so here are some pictures.

Spijkerboor – one of my favorites where I reached by picking a random spot on the map

Leylestad – The dutch dub it as the most boring place and I find it serene.

Keukenhof

This year I got a chance to see Keukenhof again but from a different and non-touristic perspective when a friend offered to drive me around the fields outside of the touristic keukenhof area. Although the look of the flowers remain the same, the experience was drastically different.

Haagse Bos

A friend and I headed to Den Haag to roam about and take some pictures of the city where we serendipitously stumbled upon the beautiful Haagse Bos, just 5 minute walk away from the Den Haag Centraal. We spent most of our time there and then walked 5km to the beach, reaching just in time for the sunset.

End of summer

Every time I mention my excitement at the prospect of summer coming to an end, people give me the weirdest of looks. For most it signifies the beginning of wretched cold winter which they prefer didn’t exist in the first place, while I look forward for the colors of fall and the whites of winters and misty cold.

The light that end of summer brings is so absolutely mesmerising that it almost makes me want the upcoming winter to be put on hold. Here are some pictures where I attempt to capture it

Haarlem

I passed by this pretty little dutch down several times, but did not get a chance to explore it until a week back, when a few Russian friends who lived there, invited me over, on a sunny sunday for some lunch and talk and long walk along the country side. This is one town, I wouldn’t mind living in, for its just 10 minutes away from the beach.
