I always enjoy travelling in trains, especially if I am sitting by the window. It makes me want to look out, to watch the world pass by giving plenty of time to think, retrospect and contemplate. The yearning for such state of mind pushed my friend and I to go on a long and impromptu train ride to Maastricht.
Traversing the narrow and gorgeous alleyways just outside the busy city center, is something I can only describe in pictures

California Sunset
Ever since I lived in San Francisco Bay Area for few months many years back, I have been yearning of going back. Earlier this year, I finally got a chance to visit for a week. Soon after I landed my cousin and his wife cooked me a delicious meal and decided to take me to a nearby mountain – Mount Hamilton, which was an hour’s drive from Freemont.
We reached just the peak, just in time to witness the majestic golden sun, alone in the clear, in all its glory, starting to set beneath the cold pacific horizon, behind the silhouetted mountain ranges, amidst an ocean of dazzling orange-blue gradient skies. The sight was such – that time slowed down, our moods lit up; In that moment, while the birds chirped and people laughed, everything in the world seemed allright.
Hamburg
A friend and I took off to Hamburg for christmas and were surprised to be greeted by a beautifully lit & decorated city that was pretty much deserted.
Roaming around the streets in the centre of the city, all drowned in the resounding music of a lone street saxophonist was the most unforgettable experience I brought back from Hamburg
The food was great too.
Whenever the sun was out, the city basked in golden sunlight
and when it left, it lingered around in the sky, just long enough to dazzle the sky in saturated color gradients, for few minutes.
Rome
After an adventure trip that began up with me not being allowed onto the flight on account of forgetting my passport, I spent 2 days in Venice and then headed to Rome, a city full of gorgeous alleyways, cool drinking water fountains, rich history hiding in plain sight in every nook and corner and the incredibly delicious Ice-Creams (of which I had more in 3 days than I had an entire year)
The Colosseum was my first stop in the city, one I have been meaning to visit for very long time.
Altair of the Fatherland was visible as an imposing structure right from the Colosseo, so I took a walk there
After taking some pictures I started wandering around the city basking in the gorgeous golden evening sun
And ended my day by accidentally stumbling across a cozy Pizzeria in a narrow roman alleyway with an amazing pizza, where I had the 2nd best pizza of my entire life; the 1st being a pizza I had on the Burano Island in Venice. Further attempts to rediscover the same pizzeria in Rome over the next few days ended in failure.
Day 2 started with me checking off an item in my bucket list with a visit to The Roman Pantheon. The very thought of standing in front of an imposing and intact two millennia old structure, gave me goosebumps.
After a quick failed hunt for the Pizzeria where I ate the previous day, I settled for some coffee and pizza at another restaurant.
Then took to the streets yet again with some friends to see the stunning city scapes
and gorgeous alleyways
Haarlem
I passed by this pretty little dutch down several times, but did not get a chance to explore it until a week back, when a few Russian friends who lived there, invited me over, on a sunny sunday for some lunch and talk and long walk along the country side. This is one town, I wouldn’t mind living in, for its just 10 minutes away from the beach.
