Amsterdam Evening

On Bright sunny days or cold winter nights;
On dull rainy days or in snowy winter lights;
With old bridges over narrow canals,
and droopy houses along cobblestone streets;
From empty and alluring alleyways,
to busy and crowded market streets;
What a beauty of a city Amsterdam is!

Three years although it has been,
it still evokes the very same feel,
as I felt when I had first seen,
the a beauty of a city that Amsterdam is!

Here are some pictures from a long walk on a friday evening along the canals and streets near Prinsengracht area.

35mm Amsterdam

There is so much charm in this city that no matter how much I see and capture, it never gets old and I never feel bored; it never gets tiring and never feels same repeating. Here are some things I see everyday in this lovely city, captured on 35mm film (Fujifilm Superia x-tra 400).

End of summer

Every time I mention my excitement at the prospect of summer coming to an end, people give me the weirdest of looks. For most it signifies the beginning of wretched cold winter which they prefer didn’t exist in the first place, while I look forward for the colors of fall and the whites of winters and misty cold.

The light that end of summer brings is so absolutely mesmerising that it almost makes me want the upcoming winter to be put on hold. Here are some pictures where I attempt to capture it

Its the world-cup season and the entire country of Netherlands is living and breathing the Football by beginning the season with a revenge of 5-1 against Spain, the team it had lost the 2010 title to. As a result, the city of Amsterdam started getting drowned in a sea of orange everywhere.

Shops and houses, restaurants and streets were all decorated
